Longitude

Longitudes are imaginary lines running from north to south.  The angular distance is measured in degrees east or west of the prime meridian. The prime meridian passes through Greenwich and it is 00  and also known as Greenwich meridian. There are 3600 of longitude .these longitudinal lines are divided into to two sections, one from 00 to 1800 e and the other from 00 to 1800 w. the diameter between longitudes is equal on every concentric circle, but gets narrower as it nears the poles .the international data line lies on the opposite side of the Greenwich meridian and is numbered 1800 w and 1800 E.
